How We Place Our Puppies
Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do We Have A Waiting List?
A: We do keep a waiting list, but it is not "first come, first serve". We try to match puppies with prospective homes based off of their temperament and the individual needs of families waiting for puppies as well as the needs of the puppy. The more specific a home is about what they want or need in a puppy, the longer they will be waiting.

Q: At What Age Are Deposits Made?
A: It's rare a puppy will be available prior to 8 weeks for deposit. Puppies need to be old enough to evaluate and determine a bit about who they are.

Q: Are All Puppies In A Litter Available?

A: No. Each litter we breed is bred with the hope for something for the future of our program - either in the show ring or the whelping box. This is another reason that puppies are not available prior to the initial age we can evaluate them for these things.

Q: Where/When Can I Puppies Be Picked Up?
A: Our home airport is DRO (Durango La Plata County Airport). We also travel through much of the Midwest for various Dog Shows and often our puppy families can meet us at one of these shows to save some travel costs.

The youngest that puppies are allowed to go to their new homes is 10 weeks, but most do need to stay until 12 weeks. Some puppies have to stay longer if they are smaller or need a little extra time to mature. Puppies don't leave until they are TOTALLY ready and vet checked/cleared.

We do not ship our puppies.

Q: What is the average wait time for one of our puppies?

A: 4-6 months.

Q: Do we sell puppies for show or breeding?
A: We currently do not sell puppies for show or breeding. Puppies that are sold are sold as companions only with LIMITED AKC registration.

Q: How Much Is A Deposit? Are deposits refundable?

A: Deposits on puppies under $3000.00 are $500.00 USD. Deposits on puppies over $3000.00 are $1000.00 USD. Deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-NONTRANSFERABLE unless something were to happen to the puppy in our care or the vet were to determine him/her unfit for sale.
